SHINee's Taemin has signed with Big Planet Made Entertainment after not renewing his contract with SM Entertainment, which expired in March.

SHINee member Taemin is making a new start in his career as a solo artist by signing an exclusive contract with the Korean agency Big Planet Made Entertainment.

According to a Soompi report on Monday, April 1, Big Planet Made Entertainment announced that they had recently signed an exclusive contract with the K-pop idol. The agency currently handles the careers of Korean singers like Huh Gak, Ha Sung-woon, Lee Mu-jin, Be'O, and Ren.

"We will actively support Taemin's wide range of activities in his music career, and we will do our utmost so that he can soar in broader places and in a variety of directions. We ask that you give lots of support and love to Taemin as he makes a new start," the agency stated.

Despite not renewing his contract with SM Entertainment which expired in March, he and other SHINee members will continue their group activities under SM Entertainment.

Taemin has been with SM Entertainment for 16 years, since his debut with SHINee in 2008.

He is known for hit tracks such as "Danger," "Press Your Number," "Criminal," "Idea," "Advice," and "Guilty."
