Charlie Fleming's advice on those kids being bullied at school: “Good to talk to your parents about it para you have the support system.”

One of the most interesting and talked-about story arcs in the GMA Prime series The Master Cutter is the bullying experience of Ibyang played by the multi-talented Sienna Stevens.

In the primetime series, Ibyang is constantly being pestered by her school bully Janine (portrayed by Ericca Laude).

In a chance interview with the stars of the soap Shuvee Etrata, Prince Carlos, and Charlie Fleming, they shared their thoughts about bullying and opened up about their own personal experiences.

According to Prince, who plays Gavin Regalia, he empathizes with what Ibyang is going through, since he got bullied during his elementary days.

Recalling what happened, the Sparkle hunk shared, “Actually, na-experience ko siya ma-bully, when I was Grade one and Grade 3 yata 'yung nam-bully sa akin. Pero sumugod 'yung mommy ko. Mommy to the rescue.”

Prince stressed that parents play a pivotal role in teaching kids that bullying is not okay.

“Siyempre magsisimula rin sa magulang 'yan, kasi mga bata e. Kahit anong advise mo or kausapin mo 'yung bata makikinig talaga sila sa magulang. Hindi talaga kung sino-sino, so sana mas maging maganda 'yung guidance ng parents. At the same time, 'yung nabu-bully naman sana kausapin nila 'yung parents nila about it. Huwag nilang itago, kasi mahirap 'pag itatago, wala kayong kakampi niyan,” the Kapuso actor noted.

Meanwhile, Charlie also echoed Prince's sentiments and emphasized that early child education is essential so that children will learn what is good and bad behavior.

“I really do believe that it starts sa early childhood education- nature vs nurture of the kid. So, if you teach a kid something good sa simula pa lang, siyempre they will grow into it, because it's something familiar,” shared Charlie.

“Even when they're in their 20s or when they're 30, because it was instilled with them when they were kids or it's something familiar. Babalikan at babalikan nila 'yan, which is love - the good core of yourself,” she added.

Charlie also advises those kids being bullied to open up to their family. “So, if you are the bullied, better nga to have your strong foundation, hindi mo rin alam kung ano 'yung nangyayari sa bully mo.

“Good to talk to your parents about it para you have the support system. But at the same time, kung ikaw 'yung nambu-bully address your issues babe!”

For her part, Sparkle star Shuvee Etrata feels proud that GMA Network tackle stories about bullying in The Master Cutter to remind everyone of its ill effects.

“Bullying is not something new or dito sa mismong lugar natin - hindi siya bago!

“And having to portray those roles sa mainstream media, it talks a lot about of our mission here in GMA na hindi naman tayo gumagawa para lang gumawa lang talaga. Nandito tayo para gumawa ng quality stories. You know the creatives are doing their best para mas mapakita sa mainstream media, sa lahat ng teleserye na maganda talaga 'yung mga gawa at pinag-iisipan siya,” Shuvee told GMANetwork.com.

“And when we talk about bullying, I know it's sensitive, I myself personally I experience being bullied during elementary alam mo 'yun hindi siya bago. Pero to be able to relate to Ibyang, pero nakikita mo rin kung gaano siya ka-strong na bata. Marami kang matutunan kay Sienna.”
