The "bayanihan spirt” is still very much alive as many try to help the thousands of victims of Bagyong Ulysses (international name: Vamco).
Many parts of Luzon suffered from extreme flooding brought about by the typhoon. Marikina City and Rodriguez in Rizal were among the worst hit.
Social media influencers Nicole Andersson and Laureen Uy took to Instagram to encourage their followers to do their part in the relief operations.
Nicole posted on Instagram Story, “Let's not forget that on top of traversing this flood and losing their homes, these people can still catch COVID!!!
“May pandemic pa. I urge everyone to please help where you can and maybe rather than buying gifts this Christmas, we can use that money to help these people instead. Baka lang naman.”
Meanwhile, the younger sister of stylist Liz Uy, Laureen, has decided to donate clothes and essential items for the victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
“If you have time and you have clothes you no longer wear, consider donating them. Contacted the nearest person handling donations in my area and sending clothes, towels, hygiene products, etc. over.”
For her part, vlogger Camille Co posted on Instagram some information where people can donate to different organizations that will conduct relief drives.
