Multi-talented pop singer SORN has released a new song featuring Yeeun!
On September 15, the K-pop idol dropped her fourth single titled "Nirvana Girl," along with the music video. The song is her first comeback since the release of "SCORPIO" on April 14, 2022.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, SORN shared that her new single is about her journey as a K-pop idol.
"'Nirvana Girl' basically talks about my journey for the past 10 years with a K-pop group and in K-pop, and how I kind of feel like I wasn't really myself. I feel like people were telling me how to act, who to be, but now I am slowly, gradually becoming my authentic self and I'm becoming more comfortable being myself.
"We use the phrase 'Nirvana Girl' on my way to be Nirvana girl. Nirvana comes from Buddhism and we used that word to describe the state of enlightenment and how I feel like I'm more enlightened now as a person. And I am working hard towards my goal to become 'Nirvana Girl,'" she said.
"Nirvana Girl" features her former CLC member Yeeun. This is the first time the pair reunited on a track since the release of "HELICOPTER" in 2020.
"It was a very exciting project for me because in this project, I am not working alone. I have my member Yeeun who did the feature rap for the track and I also have Seungyeon who was kind enough to do the choreography for the chorus part in 'Nirvana Girl' for me.
"It's been more exciting for me because I think this is a great small reunion that I kind of created. I know a lot of our fans are really excited to have us back together so I really want to gather that moment for fans again."
SORN, whose real name is Chonnasorn Sajakul, is a Thai singer and celebrity based in South Korea. She is a former member of the K-pop girl group CLC.
