Throughout the workshop, the students were introduced to the basics of filmmaking, including storyboarding, editing, musical scoring, graphics and poster design, and animation, which was discussed by GMA's Post Production Videographic Senior Manager Cathy Frayco.
On the second day, participants put their learnings into practice by producing their own two-minute films in groups.
During the shoot, the young Sparkle stars demonstrated focus, passion, and teamwork.
Jasper Baylon described the experience as exciting. He said, "Masaya po. Nakaka-excite," adding that one of his key learnings was the "Theme Introduction: Hear My Voice," a discussion on storytelling and how film can express ideas, feelings, and experiences.
Raphael Landicho, who played Little John in the live-action adaptation series Voltes V: Legacy, said that the workshop provided valuable knowledge for young actors like him.
"Ang dami pong lessons na matututunan tulad po sa aming mga actors, dagdag knowledge rin po iyon lalo na sa shooting, yung mga photography, angles, rule of thirds, at marami pa pong iba," he shared.
Following the workshop, students with selected works will have the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children (SEAVFC) in Indonesia in 2027.
