A full-length stage production of William Shakespeare's Coriolanus will stream for free on the National Theatre's YouTube channel this coming June.
The Donmar Warehouse production stars Tom Hiddleston as the titular Coriolanus will premiere on June 4 and will be available for viewing until June 11.
The play was originally opened production in 2013 and was broadcast in select movie theaters in the UK and worldwide as part of the National Theatre Live program in 2014.
The Shakespearean tragedy Coriolanus is based on the life of Caius Marcius Coriolanus, a Roman general who gets entangled in the tricky world politics.
The streaming of Coriolanus is part of the National Theater at Home initiative which streams full-length plays every week for free. It also aims to raise funds for the National Theater which has temporarily closed its doors to the public due to COVID-19.
Other plays that have streamed for free include back-to-back productions of Frankestein--which saw Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller alternate roles as Dr. Frankenstein and his Creature, Anthony and Cleopatra starring Ralph Feinnes and One Man, Two Guvnors with James Corden.
