Floy Quintos passes away

Rest in peace, Floy Quintos.

The Philippine entertainment industry lost another gem as StarStruck council Floy Quintos died of a heart attack on the morning of April 27.

Celina Quintos, Floy's family member, posted about the death of the playwright on Facebook and said, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I, on behalf of my family, announce that [Floy Quintos], esteemed playwright and director, but more importantly beloved brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, has returned to the arms of the Lord. He passed suddenly in the ER from a heart attack this morning, April 27th, 2024.”

According to Celina, they are still making arrangements for Floy's wake and will soon share an update about it once available.

“Our family is still making arrangements for the wake at Arlington Memorial Chapels and will post updates on the date and time once we have them. We ask for your prayers, love, and support as we navigate this tremendous loss,” Celina continued.

In the short Facebook post, Celina also honored Floy's contribution to the culture and art of the Philippines.

“Floy Quintos was a beacon of Philippine culture and the arts, but also shone so much firelight for the people closest to him. The country, the world, and our home are much darker with this light snuffed out too soon. We hope to share our light with each other through this time,” Celina wrote.

Aside from being one of the council members of GMA Network's reality-talent search StarStruck, Floy was also a diligent playwright and director. He is best known for Wating, Darna: The Return, and It Girl. Floy also did plays like St Louis Loves Dem Filipinos, Atang: Dulang May Musika, and Fake.
