Maria Clara at Ibarra head writer Suzette Doctolero called out the uploader of a video showing spoilers of what would happen in the series.
“Nakakainis talaga mga taong nag-a upload ng spoilers,” Suzette said in a Tweet posted on January 22.

Apparently, a bystander watching the filming of the series in one of its locations took a video of the scene and posted it on social media. The scene contains spoilers for upcoming episodes of the series.
Meanwhile, in response to Suzette's Tweet, Filipino historian, academic, and TV personality Xiao Chua called on the fans of Maria Clara at Ibarra to never watch any location shoot videos posted on social media that are not from GMA Network to avoid spoilers.
“Ang nakakainis, yung location bystander ay accidental ang ginawa niyang spoiler kasi hindi siya nanonood noong show at kung ano anong sinasabi doon sa broadcast,” he said.
He added that the bystander did not even know who the characters were, especially Fidel, played by David Licauco.
“Napabayaan ang location, andaming cellphone na bukas,” he added.
Fans also expressed their irritation at the spoilers, saying that they would rather “experience the thrill & excitement when it airs.”
“Ang dami kasi gusto magyabang, akala nila ikakafamous nila. Nakakainis lang,” a netizen said.
Another netizen replied that while they are happy to be able to see their idols in person and take a picture with them, bystanders should still respect the staff and creators of the show by not spoiling anything.
A netizen suggested that a security team close off the area to prevent bystanders from taking photos or videos to spoil the series.
Another netizen, on the other hand, called on the legal team of the network to have a representative message the person who posted the videos to take them down, and conveyed hope that the GMA “improves in the spoiler and privacy items.”
