Here are the five pairs of shoes you'll need for anything and everything that comes your way.

There are two types of shoes in the world: the kind you turn to again and again, and the kind that are utterly trendy that it makes you happy just staring at them in your closet.

While the latter elicits excitement to your core, it's the former that's going to get you through life.

So, for those who suffer from the “I have nothing to wear” syndrome, we've broken down the five pairs of shoes you'll need for anything and everything that comes your way.

1. Ballet flats

The ballerina flats are probably the most versatile shoe as you can pair them with anything. As far as color goes, black is obviously the best choice in terms of wearability but you can also get away with other colors like tan, red, silver, and gold.

So think Audrey Hepburn and pair it with a Breton top. If you can, try splurging on a Chanel pair or get a dupe --it's the one in cream color with a black toe cap.

2. Pointy Toe Black Pumps

The pointy black pump is the more sophisticated and friendly version of the platform stilettos. Once you throw it on, you'll look more polished and fierce at the drop of a hat.

You can wear this with cropped skinny jeans or a simple shift dress for a whiff of being a boss and a hint of femininity.

3. Black Ankle Boots

Probably the only footwear that screams put-together and cool at the same time. Depending on your taste, ankle boots can be paired with your favorite denim for that rocker chick look or when wearing tights and dress for that casual Cuban feel.

4. Minimalist Sandals

Imagine Sofia Coppola vacationing in the South of France. Even if you've never seen a picture of her, you know in your head that her sandals are so tasteful that you could wear it on casual days and dressier days.

Safe colors to go for include black, tan, or metallic --a.k.a. neutrals.

5. Classic White Sneakers

Even before Stan Smiths, classic white sneakers have always had a place in a fashionable person's wardrobe. Pair it with a white shirt and your favorite jeans or you can also go for a leather pair and dress it down with skirts and laid back tees.

To be quite honest, you probably have a lot of these shoes already in rotation. But, if you've been putting off the trigger on a pair of black ankle boots in favor of the latest mule or neon Air Max, consider this a friendly reminder.

It'll definitely save you time getting out the door in the morning in the long run.
