Tom Rodriguez on his love life, "In fact, I am seeing someone."
In a exclusive interview with Nelson Canlas for GMA Integrated News Interviews, Kapuso star Tom Rodiguez finally announced his official return after taking a break from showbiz.
During the interview, the actor shared his experience living a simpler life in the US, which he said helped him focus on practicing self-love and self-improvement. Tom also mentioned some of his learnings during his emotional healing in the US.
He said, "Mas simple lahat ng bagay. Relish to simple things. Kung ano para sa iyo, mapupunta sa iyo. Like hindi mo na kailangan, 'Kailangan mo ito, kailangan mo ganiyan.' Trying to control life, learn to just resign yourself. Resign yourself to the Lord and he always provides. Every step of the way na parang magkaka-anxiety ka kasi tinatakot mo ang sarili [mo]. You're living out of fear, you're living out of anxiety instead of living out of love, joy, [and] hope. Kapag doon ka pala everything just falls into place."
The Kapuso actor took a break from showbiz for over two years after separating from his ex-wife, Carla Abellana. When he was asked by Nelson if he is now 100 percent healed, his response was, "I would say so."
He also mentioned that he's ready to meet with his ex-wife. "For me honestly Nelson, I don't think it matters to me much. You know we have our own paths, our own lives now and I wish her well in hers," he said.
Nelson then asked Tom if he's ready to give love a second chance, and to everyone's surprise, the actor confessed, "In fact, I am seeing someone."
Tom described their meeting as perfect timing. He remembered he met his current special someone when he felt completely healed and ready to love again.
"Once I was ready it came at the right time [be]cause I thought like at that point, I thought it would never happen again," Tom said.
For now, the Kapuso actor doesn't want to reveal who he's dating as he wants to keep his personal life private.
When it comes to work, Tom has started accepting projects again, a few weeks after his return to the country.
One of his upcoming projects is the theater production of Ibarra: The Musical, which serves as his awaited comeback in theater.
He has likewise returned to social media with his new accounts on Instagram and TikTok.
