TWICE's Chaeyoung to pursue solo career outside JYP Entertainment.

TWICE member Chaeyoung is set to pursue her solo career independently from JYP Entertainment, while remaining part of the K-pop girl group and continuing her activities with the group.

Chaeyoung shared the news in a letter posted on Instagram on Thursday, where she reflected on her 14 years with JYP Entertainment and the TWICE team. She said she plans to create music within her own “'Lil Fantasy' world” and expressed her gratitude to the people who supported her throughout her career.

She mentioned in a social media post that she is ready to explore a new chapter in her music career, saying, “I am going to build my music in my own 'Lil Fantasy' world.” In her Instagram letter, she also expressed her appreciation for JYP Entertainment and the TWICE team, adding, “I want to thank everyone at JYP and the Twice team, who supported and believed in a tomboy like me for 14 years.”

It remains unclear whether “Lil Fantasy” is the official name of a new agency or label. The name was previously used for Chaeyoung's first solo album, Lil Fantasy Vol. 1, which was released in September 2025.

Despite the change in her solo career, Chaeyoung assured fans that her commitment to TWICE will remain the same. She described her time with the group as an important part of her journey and said she hopes both her TWICE identity and solo work can continue to bring meaningful music to fans.

Chaeyoung joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2012 and made her debut with TWICE in October 2015. The group recently wrapped up its sixth world tour with three finale shows at Seoul's KSPO Dome from July 10 to 12.

Her announcement comes shortly after fellow TWICE member Jeongyeon also revealed her departure from JYP Entertainment. Jeongyeon signed with Varo Entertainment while remaining a member of TWICE and continuing her group activities.
