Stars of 'Bubble Gang' share their thoughts about working under the new normal.
Just like almost all shows on TV, the two-decade-old Kapuso gag show Bubble Gang is adapting to the new normal brought about by the highly-contagious COVID-19 disease.
In fact, safety and health of all the people involved in the production is of utmost priority.
During a recent video conference organized by the GMA Network's Corporate Communications Department, one of the show's mainstays, Valeen Montenegro, explained to the entertainment press how the production is trying its best to turn the challenges of working under the new normal to their advantage.
She said, “We adapted to the new normal. We're trying to make it work to our advantage also cause we want to ensure that everyone is safe, but also we create good content for Bubble Gang.”
The creative team of the flagship comedy program of GMA-7 also flexed its creative power to draw inspiration from the current situation and turned it into gags and sketches.
Sef Cadayona credited the show's adaptability to deliver the content that their viewers want from them.
He said that it has been one of the key ingredients to the “success” of Bubble Gang; that it can adapt to the changing times.
“Siguro 'yung secret recipe ng Bubble Gang kaya din siya tumagal ng ganito is kaya niya mag-adjust kung sa kung ano 'yung timpla na gusto ng tao na makuha from us,” said Sef.
He added, “So kada wave ng trend na sasakyan ng Bubble [Gang] at the same time particularly ngayon pandemic na 'to, naging sensitive 'yung mga issue ganyan. So, thankful kami sa Bubble [Gang] kasi kaya nila mag-adjust.”
When Sef was asked by an entertainment writer what he misses most prior to the pandemic, he immediately said that it was the bonding moment with the people in the gag show.
“'Yung bonding ng lunch time atsaka dinner time, ' di ba. 'Yung mga kuwentuhan na 'yun iba siya, e, iba talaga kapag may iba kasama na naka-kuwentuhan mo.
“Especially beyond work, kumbaga, kamusta sila, 'ano nangyayari?' ganyan. Importante 'yung sa tawa, iba e, iba 'yung hawa ng energy na nagtatawanan kayo lahat sa loob ng studio.”
