'Ok Ako' actress Vanessa Peña on getting her Bench billboard: 'Nothing is impossible pala talaga.'
Sparkle actress Vanessa Peña was beaming with pride during her exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com on September 5 as she talked about getting her billboard.
The Sparkada beauty is now part of the star-studded roster of Bench endorsers and last July she shared on Instagram the moment she got to see her billboard for the clothing brand.
According to the Ok Ako star, this proves the power of manifesting her goals, because ever since she was a kid, Vanessa dreamt of becoming a Bench ambassador.
She told GMANetwork.com, “Gustong-gusto ko talaga magpasalamat talaga sa Bench dahil nu'ng bata ako 'pag dumadaan ako sa mga Bench stores, sinasabi ko sa sarili ko na balang araw magiging part din ako nila.”
“Na balang araw na makikita ko rin 'yung sarili ko sa billboard. So, the moment na nakita ko 'yung sarili ko dun, tinititigan ko lang siya. Hindi talaga ako makapaniwala, as in, hindi siya nagsi-sink in sa akin agad-agad.
“Natutuwa ako, sobrang saya ko. 'Yung parang natupad 'yung pangarap ko and dati kasi ang tingin ko imposible ganun, pero, nothing is impossible pala talaga.”
Vanessa joined fellow Sparkle artists Aidan Veneracion and Shanelle Agustin in the recent GMA Social media event Kapuso ArtistTambayan to promote the special mini-series Ok Ako.
The said project is a historic collaboration between GMA-7 and the National Council for Children's Television (NCCT).
Vanessa shared that reading the script for the episode "Sexuality, Identity, and Self-Love" really moved her because it tackles the struggles that the youth is going through right now.
“Nung binasa ko 'yung script medyo naiyak ako. Kasi relatable e siya and natuwa rin ako dahil maraming kabataan na makaka-relate dito,” Vanessa recalled.
“Happy ako na siguro 'yung mga ibang tao hindi nakikita 'yung struggle ng kabataan dito nila makikita na, 'Ah! ganun pala 'yung nararamdaman nila.'
“Hindi pala siya kaartehan lang or whatsoever. Kaya thankful ako na may ganitong show sa GMA upang maging aware rin 'yung ibang tao kung ano 'yung nararanasan ng generation namin.”
