Will Ashley revealed that his biggest inspiration in pursuing acting was none other than Alden Richards.
In an interview on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, the young actor reflected on his beginnings, from joining Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition to landing roles as a child star.
"Na-inspire po ako sa pinapanood kong teleserye sa GMA na nandoon po si Kuya Alden," Will shared.
He added, "Si Kuya Alden po talaga 'yung idol ko before pa."
It was after seeing Alden on screen that Will decided to take his shot at becoming an actor himself.
For Will Ashley, one simple decision kick-started a career he never imagined.
"Sabi ko, bakit hindi ko siya i-try? Feeling ko magiging happy ako. Doon po nag-start 'yun na nag-workshop ako. Nag-start ako sa commercial," the Sparkle star recalled.
From commercials, Will eventually auditioned for the 2013 Kapuso remake Villa Quintana, where he landed the role of young Isagani. That breakthrough opened the doors to more opportunities.
"Thank God, nagtuloy-tuloy po 'yung mga projects," he said.
Since then, Will has showcased his versatility in shows like Mulawin vs. Ravena, Contessa, Prima Donnas, The Fake Life, Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters, Unbreak My Heart, and Prinsesa ng City Jail, among others.
