Who would've thought that McDonald's would ever be producing its own swimwear one day? It may initially come off as weird, but there's actually a great inspiration and motivation behind it.
Many companies and businesses worldwide are adapting to a more sustainable way of producing their products and packaging in an effort to address climate change.
The world-famous fast-food chain McDonald's has taken the initiative to replace plastic straws with recyclable paper ones as part of its global packaging.
So, what happened to the plastic straws, you ask? Well, McDonald's Austria has upcycled them into red-and-yellow striped swimwear!
McDonald's Austria has collaborated with Austrian label Poleit to create the limited-edition swimwear collection, which is being raffled off.
The swimsuit and swim shorts are made from upcycled fabric, which was created by combining McDonald's plastic straws and post-consumer plastic waste reclaimed from the ocean.
This upcycling initiative from McDonald's Austria is proof that with the help of one's ingenuity, recycling can indeed give birth to creative and useful products, and help save the environment at the same time.
What do you think of McDonald's swimwear? Do you think they should produce more of it? Sound off in the comments section.
