Among those paying tribute was Kapuso actor Yasser Marta, who joined Filipino fans in mourning by dedicating a performance to Barbie.

In a video shared on Instagram, the Sparkle star picked up his guitar and delivered a heartfelt rendition. As he played, Yasser sang the Tagalog version of “Can't Help Fallin,” the iconic soundtrack from the 2001 series Meteor Garden.

His emotional performance resonated with many fans, who flooded the comment section with love and appreciation, expressing their feelings through heart emojis.

“Our millennial hearts are crying. RIP Shan Cai,” Yasser captioned the post, referencing Barbie's unforgettable role.

Originally sung by Taiwanese artist Harlem Yu, “Can't Help Fallin” was later released in Tagalog by Josh Santana in 2004, shortly after Meteor Garden premiered in the Philippines.

The series, which follows the story of Shan Cai (Barbie), a poor girl who interacts with four wealthy boys--Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan), Xi Men (Ken Chu), Mei Zuo (Vanness Wu), and Hua Ze Lei (Vic Chou)--became a cultural phenomenon, captivating audiences worldwide.

Recently, Meteor Garden co-stars Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, and Rainie Yang shared their sorrow over the loss of their dear friend.
