Sparkle actress Ysabel Ortega gave her 101 percent for her role as the pilot of the Volt Lander Jamie Robinson in her exclusive chat with Nelson Canlas on 24 Oras.

While everyone was staying indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ysabel spent numerous hours of training in arnis, boxing, and even doing stunts, when she was in La Union during the lockdown.

Ysabel told “Chika Minute,” “Especially nu'ng pandemic, when you were at home, tapos siyempre hindi mo pa alam kung kelan kayo magre-resume sa taping, when work will resume for all of us. So, parang nakatulong din siya sa akin para hindi mawala 'yung goal ko. Para hindi rin ako masyado malungkot sa bahay, because siyempre 'di ba it takes a toll on all of us din naman na nasa bahay lang tayo the whole time.”

The Sparkle beauty also feels that she has a lot in common with her character Jamie Robinson. She explained, “Kasi si Jamie, I feel like what we also have in common is she's also trying to make her way to prove herself. To prove herself na she's worthy of what she has. She has what it takes and I feel like you know we both take those challenges na as motivation to really succeed.”

In the same report, Ysabel stated that their realistic costume for Voltes V: Legacy also helped them a lot in terms of portraying their roles. Direk Mark Reyes already said in an interview with reporters that each flight suit of the Voltes V members cost PhP350,000.

“Talagang 'yung feeling mo, when you wear the costume talagang nakakadagdag siya ng confidence. Nakakadagdag siya na parang feeling mo sobrang powerful mo, 'cause you feel like a hero when you are wearing it,” Ysabel noted. “Feeling ko ang dami ko puwede gawin, feeling ko kaya ko lahat.”
