Zia Quizon

Zia Quizon admits she went to Serbia to see if her now-husband was legit.

Zia Quizon revealed that she first met her now-husband, Aleksa Rahul, online. To make sure she was truly speaking to the person he claimed to be, Zia even traveled to Serbia, where Aleksa lives, before fully trusting him.

In a recent episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, the King of Talk asked Zia how she first met Aleksa. She shared the story of their online connection and how their first in-person meeting in Serbia strengthened their relationship.

“We just met naturally,” said Zia, who did not go into detail about how she and Aleksa first connected online. “Just through mutual interest organically online. It happens more nowadays, but it's also something that can definitely still be unsafe. You have to be very cautious.”

“Also, I was super paranoid at that time,” she continued. “I'm not even on the apps or anything like that so I didn't know, what's the protocol here? How do you meet in person? How do I stay safe?”

Since they got along well, Zia said she decided to travel to Serbia to see Aleksa in person after several months of communicating online.

“I was really like, 'Okay, I want to go there and make sure you're real,'” Zia said. “Baka ma-catfish ako dito.”

According to Zia, Aleksa didn't immediately believe she would actually go to Serbia, so she showed him the plane ticket she had purchased.

“And we met, and he was real, you know,” Zia continued. “And we hit it off.”

The couple got married in 2022. Zia also made waves online with her posts labeled “proof of wife” and “proof of husband,” responding to those who questioned her husband's gender identity because of his name.

Zia is the daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla and the late comedy king, Dolphy.
