Save, save, save - Jinri Park

By MARY LOUISE LIGUNAS

Model and radio DJ Jinri Park is thrifty as can be.

After playing on Don’t Lose the Money, she shared with GMANetwork.com how she started being money-smart very early.

“I’m a very practical person ‘cause that’s how my parents raised me. When I was in elementary, I even learned how to use the smallest pencil and then [attach] it in like a pen, and then use it ‘til the very end,” she said.

Now twenty-six years old, Jinri makes sure she adheres to the mindset that was instilled to her. She makes sure that there’s no centavo that goes to waste and even goes out of her way to save more.

“I use electric fan most of the time even though it’s hot [and] I’ll just dress less… so I [would] not [have] to use the aircon. I [also] don’t buy super high-end branded bags or shoes. I try to buy everything on sale,” she shared.

Her advice to everyone? Save, save, save.

“Every little cent counts so [even] if it’s a centavo, don’t disregard it. That can build up to a lot if you save up. Even water, if you have a bottle of water and you drank half, don't throw it away. You could use that maybe to water the plants or even put it in the kettle to boil it and use it again,” she concluded.
