Bakit mahirap maging Homer?

'Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang' marks the third time na magkasama sina Dingdong Dantes at Marian Rivera sa isang soap. Ayon kay Dingdong, this should make things so much easier—pero, siya rin mismo ang nagsabi na this is not the case. So bakit nga ba mahirap ang role ni Homer para kay Dingdong? Read on to find out. Dingdong Dantes is living the life. He's been named Favorite Actor of the Year, Third Sexiest Man in the World, and he's currently starring alongside the country's hottest actress—for the third time! Pero ang aktor na rin mismo ang nagsasabi na he's not living the high life. And that's because of Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. "Mahirap si Homer," Dingdong explains, nang kamustahin namin ang experience niya with the character. "It's hard to bring out the life out of someone who doesn't have a life." Dingdong adds na buti na lang daw at dumating si Proserfina (played by Marian Rivera) sa buhay ng character niya at "nagkaroon ng excitement dito." Dingdong describes Homer as methodical, pero hindi lang 'yan ang reason kung bakit hindi madaling i-portray ang character niya. "It's kind of funny," the actor begins. "I would think na dapat mas madali [na mag-shoot]. But the fact, the truth is, mas mahirap since we are kind of familiar with each other." He explains na sa start ng bawat love story, "mayroon 'yan dapat sa umpisa na parang getting-to-know-each-other stage. So dapat nahihiwalay namin 'yung mga napagsamahan na namin—dapat para kaming total strangers ulit."
And while they are able to do this, if Dingdong may say so himself, ito ang talagang nagiging challenge sa kanya at kay Marian in portraying their respective characters well. And to make sure they are doing their jobs properly, tutok ang dalawang lead stars sa show. Dingdong says, "As of now, I'm concentrating on Tadyang." With this soap being touted as their last together, kailangan talaga na dobleng kayod to make it memorable. But Dingdong says that while there have been reports about Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang being the last of the DongYan soaps for the time being, he's still not closing the door on a possible fourth DongYan soap: "Unless it's definite and it's really final, I don't want to [say anything]." To the loyal fans of Dingdong, Marian, and their current soap, Dingdong has this to say: "Thank you for always supporting, for believing, and for always keeping your creative minds open, na maraming posibilidad na puwedeng mangyari sa characters namin. Hindi lang kami puwedeng mag-stick sa ganitong klaseng genre. Na puwede rin kaming mag-evolve as individual actors and as a tandem. So thank you for that.
