Sage advice mula kay Manilyn Reynes

Prior to "All My Life," ang huling soap ni Manilyn Reynes with GMA-7 was "MariMar" which launched the careers of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera to stardom. Can she do it again with Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal? Text by Jason John S. Lim. Interview by Erick P. Mataverde. Photo provided by GMA Network. Bago pa man magsimula ang All My Life, Manilyn Reynes has already expressed her excitement sa pagiging part of the first prime time soap that top bills Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal. "I'm excited to do it kasi si Aljur and si Kris ang kasama ko," she says. "And we all know naman na magagaling ang mga bata and malakas ang kanilang love team—so natutuwa ako for them." Simula pa lang, Manilyn says she was already sure na magiging fun ang experience of working with the two. She explains, "kasi Aljur has always been a nice kid, since the last guesting na nagkita kami sa Moms before. And I always thought he'd really make it, kasi mabait nga 'yung bata. "Very promising, actually. Ang itsura, simpatico, 'di ba?" As for Kris naman, Manilyn says, "[she] is a very charming girl. And I like her." Natutuwa nga si Manilyn na from MariMar where she played Corazon, "ang nagsisilbing guide kay Marimar at Sergio; heto naman ako with Kris naman, siya naman ang iga-guide ko." Of course, that might not exactly be easy for her character right now, ngayong alam na ni Romina (character ni Kris) na si Sally (character ni Manilyn) ang tunay niyang ina. Pero for Manilyn herself, she's very willing to take the two kids under her wing. In fact may advice nga si Manilyn para sa dalawang rising stars; "They just really have to be good in everything they do," she begins. "Kasi that's the key eh. In everything they do, kahit anong role pa 'yan, basta't inaccept mo, you own it. And you really be there, in place of. 'yung ikaw na 'to. Never half-baked." But, she continues, "I think wala naman masyadong dapat ipagpapayo sa kanila, kasi they seem to be very nice kids, magagalang. And they're very talented, marurunong. Siguro lang, kailangan maging sarili lang nila sila. Lagi ko namang sinasabi, kahit sa mga ibang nakasama ko. 'Just be yourself, anak.' 'di ba kasi, the more na nag-iiba ka, the more na parang—'why carry such a burden when you can be yourself?' So I think we will get along well, kasi mababait 'yung mga bata."
All My Life airs late afternoon every weekday, pagkatapos ng Hole in the Wall at bago mag-24 Oras, part of GMA Telebabad. But you can also catch Manilyn Reynes in theaters through Love OnLine from OctoArts Films, M-Zet TV and APT Entertainment that will begin showing August 19.
