Bianca Umali reflects on acting and her dream role

Kapuso teen actress Bianca Umali is no stranger to viewers who find themselves moved by the tear-jerking scenes in GMA Afternoon Prime series, Agustin dela Cruz’s Mga Basang Sisiw, where she plays Faye. What does this young dramatic actress deem as her dream role?

At the blog conference of Mga Basang Sisiw, GMANetwork.com caught up with the actress-TV host, who shared her insights in acting.

The pretty actress mentioned that she draws from personal experiences and memories when internalizing for a scene. She shared, “Nakakarelate ako sa role ko in Mga Basang Sisiw, especially the parts na nawala ‘yung parents namin, kasi in real life, I’m an orphan. I lost my mom and my dad already, and they’re both in heaven, and now I only live with my grandma. Dito, hindi namatay ‘yung dad namin pero hindi namin siya puwede makasama kahit nakikita namin siya because of Vicky. ‘Yung mom naman namin, hindi namin alam kung nasaan. Ang alam namin is patay siya.”

What should viewers expect from Bianca in the next coming episodes of Agustin dela Cruz’s Mga Basang Sisiw? According to the talented actress, “Dapat nilang abangan sa akin kung papaano ko pagsasabihan ‘yung mga kapatid ko na kailangan nilang gawin ng tama ‘yung mga ginagawa nila. Kasi si Faye, since she’s really positive and siya ‘yung ate, magkakaroon kasi ng times na mag-gigive up na ‘yung mga kapatid ko, so kailangan nila abangan kung paano ko sila itutulak paangat."

Dramatic scenes are undoubtedly becoming Bianca’s forte, but in the future, she expressed her desire in bringing something new to the table. She explained, “Gusto ko ma-try na maging kontrabida, kasi halos lahat ng roles na nagaganapan ko are mabait. Siyempre, gusto ko lang i-try and kung magka chance, gagawin ko na!”

Bianca looks up to her co-star, Maxene Magalona when it comes to honing her acting chops. She stated, “Now, gustong-gusto ko maging katulad ni Ate Maxene kasi napoportray niya nang maganda at sobrang perfect ‘yung pagiging kontabida niya sa amin.”

Aspiring actors and actresses will find inspiration in Bianca’s showbiz journey. She recalled, “May nag-invite sa akin na pumunta sa GMA. After that I started doing auditions and nag-extra ako hanggang makuha ako sa young roles and eto na, kasama na ako sa main cast.”

She also gave a word of advice to those who dream of breaking into the showbiz industry. She said, “Sa mga gustong mag-artista, ang tip ko sa kanila, siguro wait for chances. Kung gusto talaga nila, puwede sila maghanap ng ways para makuha nila ‘yung gusto nila. Siyempre si Lord, may plan talaga para sa’yo. Darating at darating iyan, step by step.”
