Chynna Ortaleza admits, 'I'm a crazy girl, a little weird...'

Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza is an onscreen chameleon. She has gone from cutie teen star to leading lady and feisty kontrabida. In real life, she has a beautifully complex character and a wide range of interests that make her quite a charmer.

One of her unique hobbies is collecting snow globes. Chynna shared, “I have like twelve of them. I have of course, my villains. I have Maleficent. I have Little Mermaid. I just feel that it’s really nice that nakikita ko ‘yung magical world inside the globe. That’s why I love snow globes a lot.”

While a lot of people take joy in basking in the sun and going to the beach, Chynna finds rainy days more relaxing.

“I like the sound of rain because it relaxes me, so ‘pag umuulan, nandiyan ‘yung mga panahon na nasa bahay ako na nakakapagsulat ako or nakakapag journal ako. There’s a term for a person who likes rain and I’m one of them,” she stated.

The Kapuso actress continued, “I’m lucky to have some time for myself now. What I do is I stay at home. I just read a book or if I have inspiration, I start art journaling or typing in my typewriter. My family knows that they can’t disturb be when I’m having my ‘me time’. They just let me be creative.”

What does she write about in her journals?

“Right now, it really depends on the kind of inspiration that comes in during the day. Sometimes, I write about love, sometimes like a fear or a new discovery when it comes to life. A lot of the entries that I write are about questions on life. I’m weird. That’s just how I am now,” answered Chynna.

Chynna has an inclination for the arts and is also into painting. She shared,“I don’t concentrate on painting per se. I do like to mix it, that’s why I call it a mixed media art journal. I write my thoughts, type it or stamp it, put some paint, put some crayon, whatever it is that I feel will work well with the current mood of my project. I even re-use old things.”

Now, Chynna embraces her quirky side. She declared, “I am a crazy girl, a little weird and I’ve actually come to terms with it recently. I have a @chynsortaleza [Instagram account] and I have another one.”

Chynna continued, “My friends find it funny because I shout out to my real self in my artista account and it’s called @littledarkchild. If they do wanna see who I am and my thoughts, they can look at that Instagram account and they’ll see the things that I like and what I believe in.”
