Bong Revilla vows to continuously produce action projects

Fantasy-action series Agimat ng Agila returns on television for its second season. The show continues the adventure of forest ranger and military officer Major Gabriel Labrador played by Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.

During the show's online press conference, Bong detailed his preparation for Agimat ng Agila Season 2, after the first season wrapped up in July.

"I really prepared for this, nagpa-condition ako physically. Siyempre, we're not getting any younger. Kailangan magpakitang gilas din tayo," he said.

Bong also commented on action projects making a comeback on TV.

He said, "Action will always be there, mawawala 'yan for a while, pero babalik 'yan. Kahit noong panahon ng '70s, na-kwento ng tatay ko [Ramon Revilla Sr.] na nawala 'yung action... pero bumalik pa rin."

The Agimat ng Agila lead actor also stressed, "Action films at sa television babalik at babalik 'yan. Tayo naman, hangga't nandito pa tayo at kaya pa natin umaksyon, gagawa tayo ng magagandang aksyon para hindi mawala ito.

The show's head writer, Jojo T. Nones, revealed what's in store for the second season.

"Sa season one kasi, naka-focus siya sa origins ng agimat ng agila an development ni Gabriel as a superhero. Na-set up na namin siya na kapag papalarin kami na ma-renew, ganito na 'yung identity niya--meron siyang laging sino-solve at hinahabol.

"Marami pa ring twists and turns, mas ma-action itong season two pero malakas pa rin 'yung fantasy element. Mas hand-to-hand combat, mas physical action, nagpa-fit talaga si Sen. Bong kasi mas physical na itong Season 2," he described.
