As a 'Battle of the Judges' squad leader, Bea Alonzo uses her talent and expertise to mentor the members of her group as her way of giving back to the entertainment industry who has been good to her for the past 20 years.

Bea Alonzo is a passionate performer, a sweetheart who can be considered one of
the most talented actresses and beautiful faces in Philippine showbiz.

She has also starred in several blockbuster movies and top-rating TV shows but for the first time in her career, it is only on Battle of the Judges where people can see Bea as a judge in a talent competition.

The premier leading lady has expressed her excitement to explore a new role in her 20 years in showbiz.

"Sa dami ng nagawa kong projects in the past, na-realize ko na ibang-iba talaga 'yung hat na isusuot mo dito because, normally, when you're acting for soaps or movies, you're responsible for your own character only, for your story-telling. But for this one, you're responsible for the future of your contestants. It's no longer about you so it's very fulfilling for me and I'm so glad I did say 'yes' to this kasi sobra kong maraming natututunan and sobra akong nag-e-enjoy," Bea shared.

Because of the nature of the show which pits four judges and their handpicked
performers against each other, Bea amusingly disclosed that this might bring out her
competitive character. She's fabulous, she's fierce and she's not shy to show it. "I will bring out the best in them, and use my experience in the industry to improve their weaknesses," she said.

Bea is also thrilled to watch world-class Filipino performers on one battle stage. As the
squad leader, she believes that she can use her talent and expertise as a total performer to mentor the members of her group as also her way of giving back to the entertainment industry.

Bea added that if it is necessary, she is willing to call up showbiz friends and entertainment industry experts to level up the overall performance of her squad.

She said, "Most of our contestants are already champions. Most of them have already won contests in the past so sanay na sila sa ganitong environment but what do you do if you're already a champion? Ano pang gagawin mo para mapabuti ang talento mo? How do you elevate yourself? How do you step up from the rest? So that's where I come in, 'di ba? Andito ako para gabayan sila, andito ako para i-guide sila, at ipakilala sila sa tamang tao na gagabay din sa kanila to better their craft."

Bea's squad is composed of the following: Moses Gozun, a 10-year-old drummer from Caloocan; Rony Mariano, a veteran magician from Quezon City; Jay-R Siaboc, a come-backing singer from Cebu; Amazing Duo, a dancing duo from Laguna; Joseph Valerio, a champion sand artist from Laguna; Erwin Reyes, an amazing light artist.

Hosted by Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards, Battle of the Judges airs Saturdays, 7:15 p.m. after Pepito Manaloto on GMA.
