Kapuso actress Yasmien Kurdi feels honored that, in their own little way, the sacrifices made by the men and women of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was thrust into the spotlight via their primetime series Beautiful Justice.

In her exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com this Thursday morning, December 12, Yasmien shared that PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino lauded the show for its efforts to inform the public on what the agency is all about and their programs that address the drug problem in our society.

She got the chance to talk to DG Aquino this week, when she attended the on-the-spot Belen making contest held at the PDEA office.

She said, “Masaya siya kasi maganda 'yung image ng PDEA. At the same time, nare-recognize nga 'yung mga sacrifices ng mga PDEA agents.

“They are sacrificing a lot of things, pati 'yung security nila, ng family. 'Tsaka nalalaman ng mga tao kung ano nga ba talaga ang PDEA.

“Sila talaga 'yung nagki-keep na maging safe ang society.”

The Kapuso actress was elated that she was able to give joy this holiday season when she got to bond with the PDEA agents and employees.

“Masaya ako dahil sa ganun kaliit na bagay for me, napasaya ko 'yung mga tao sa PDEA.

"It's an honor po na pinili nila akong judge doon, dahil po ang mga taong ito, they sacrifice a lot of things for the society,” Yasmien ended.

Walk of Fame recognition

This Thursday, Yasmien was also recognized after she was included in the new batch of Kapuso personalities that got their star in the Walk of Fame held in front of the GMA Annex Building.

The StarStruck Season 1 First Princess tells GMANetwork.com that she dedicates this recognition to those working behind the camera and to her GMA-7 bosses.

“I'm humbled and very much honored siyempre, na binigyan ako ng bituin ng GMA Network, 'di ba?

“Happy ako kasi isang parangal talaga ito. Pero siyempre kami lang kasi 'yung sinasabi ko nga na parang dahil artista kami dito, kami 'yung faces ng GMA.

“Kami lang 'yung nakikita. Pero siyempre itong star na ganito inaalay ko din naman sa mga taong nagpupuyat behind the camera.

“Yung production staff, 'yung mga boses namin na nagpupuyat just to make our shows better and to be good lahat, maging okay [lahat] 'di ba.”

“And siyempre, I'm very happy kasi nanggaling ito sa brightest star na si Sir Felipe L. Gozon.”
