Gwen Zamora on acting and maintaining an active lifestyle

Kapuso actress Gwen Zamora can go from kontabida in Binoy Henyo to a funny gal in Bubble Gang. Get to know about what this pretty actress loves doing on and off-cam in this exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com.

Gwen currently plays Emily in the GMA Telebabad series, Binoy Henyo. We asked the Primetime star what she would miss most about the show.

“I’ll miss the cast and crew. We became so close, like with the crew before for Aso ni San Roque, so ‘yun ang mamimiss ko, ‘yung barkadahan namin. I also got close to Sheena and Luis, so I’ll miss them,” she answered.

She also shared how she usually bonded with her co-stars in the show in between takes.

“We talk and we like to order food because our locations are normally close to eating areas so ‘pag alam namin na wala kaming scene, we’ll go. Like our bonding moments are food and chika-chika,” said Gwen.

Gwen also has a funny side, and she loves the fact that she gets to express this part of herself in Bubble Gang. We asked her how she and the rest of the Bubble Gang cast are faring, now that veteran comedian and singer Ogie Alcasid has left the show.

She replied, “It’s a bummer na wala na siya kasi he was really fun to be around with, so like the first couple of weeks na wala siya, nararamdaman mo talaga na may kulang. Pero ‘yun, we’re still going strong. We got new additions, we have Sef Cadayona and Chariz Solomon. We’re trying to fill in the blanks, but you could still feel na may kulang.”

Gwen is also glad to be working with a new breed of comedians, in the form of the “Bagong Gang” members, who are competing to be regulars on the show.

“Now, we have the bagong gang, which is funny. Finally, you’ll get to see them get incorporated into our scenes, so we work together now. RJ Padilla for me is the funniest talaga. I had a scene with him, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Two weeks from now, we’re gonna know who’s gonna make it ‘til the end,” she exclaimed.

When she’s not in front of the camera, Gwen loves to watch movies and eat out. As much as possible, she strives to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Engaging in sports also serves as a bonding activity for her and her friends.

She shared, “I like to hang out with my friends. We play badminton on Sundays. We used to go kickboxing, but we haven’t gone in a while. I also do boxing and I started playing golf, so I go to the driving range. I try to stay as active as I can on my days off because once I start bumming, that’s it. I’ll stay in bed all day.”

Gwen Zamora currently appears in Binoy Henyo every weeknight before 24 Oras, and in Bubble Gang, every Friday night. Get more updates on her by logging on to www.gmanetwork.com. -Text by Samantha Portillo, Photo by Bochic Estrada, GMANetwork.com
