Direk Frasco Mortiz explains changes happening to 'Bubble Gang' now that they are airing on Sunday night
TV director Frasco Mortiz is embracing the challenge of Bubble Gang moving to a new timeslot starting July 9.
In a chance interview with the Kapuso director during the grand media conference of the Kapuso gag show held this Friday afternoon (June 30), he shared some of his reminders to the creative team, now that they will make this big jump from late Friday night to Sunday Primetime.
Direk Frasco told GMANetwork.com, “Medyo magto-tone down kami sa kapilyuhan, sa ka-naughty-han. Kasi, iba na 'yung manonood, may mga bata na nanonood that time.
“In terms of content, nabawasan man 'yung pagka-naughty, 'yung pagkaloko-loko pa rin ng Bubble Gang, it still shows.”
He added that Bubble Gang will also showcase “relevant” content every week that the Kababols could relate to.
Mortiz explained, “Yun ang ipu-push namin tsaka 'yung pinipiling topic ng show lalo na si Kuya Bitoy - relevant! We try na 'yung pinag-uusapan sa show [ay] relevant sa mga manonood. Kumbaga, pinag-uusapan siya ng komunidad , issue siya ng bayan or anything na nakaka-relate 'yung mga tao.”
For her part, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable also shared with the members of the press that it is essential to reinvent the gag show because it is the network's responsibility to offer something “new” and “fresh” to the audience.
“We wanted to move it to an earlier timeslot on a Sunday para mas marami ang maka-enjoy sa binibigay na entertainment ng Bubble Gang. 'Yun actually talaga.
“Dun sa 9:30 [pm] although it's a good audience also, mas malawak 'yung audience 'pag mas maaga, and also the weekend,” Rasonable added.
“To give it a new face, siyempre, kasi 'di ba habang tumatagal, you always have to reinvent yourself especially for a program that has lasted this long. You always have to reinvent and give something new to your audience.”
“That's our responsibility to our audience and we are fulfilling that responsibility. So excited with what we can give na bago dito sa bagong Bubble Gang on a Sunday.”
