Isa na rito ang New York-based writer na si Eugene Santos, at ayon sa kanyang Instagram post ay inspired by the character of Glaiza de Castro ang kanyang blonde hair.

"People I know were surprised when they first saw me go blonde. When asked why, I always say that it was an impulse decision, just something I did for change. It was, until I gave it some thought. It wasn’t for Kpop, and at first maybe I was thinking of Gerard Way. But no, and the subliminal inspiration is as campy as it can get," he began the lengthy caption.

He continued, "I’ve been watching everyday snippets of a Pinoy soap opera called Contessa, likely inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo. Basically, the eponymous lead used to be a poor yet kind woman who transformed herself into an eloquent blonde-haired socialite to seek revenge to those who wronged her. In some aspects, I’ve been relating to this character. Not that I’m actively seeking vengeance (far from it), but with the way I’ve been burned too much in dating and how some things in my life in general didn’t go as planned, there’s a certain pleasure in the idea of vindication and self-empowerment, to rise above the ashes and to seize what life has to offer ferociously."
