Gabby Eigenmann tells showbiz newbies to 'keep on improving'

Experienced actor Gabby Eigenmann has established himself in the industry as one of the best drama actors today. His two-decade-long experience in the industry speaks volumes.

During the online media conference for the new season premiere of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko, Gabby was asked what questions young stars usually ask of him.

With a smile, Gabby shared that he imparts the advice he learned from his late dad Mark Gil, also a well-respected actor during his time.

“Hindi kasi ako selfish, e. I don't intentionally approach them and say, 'You do this. You do that.' 'Yun kasi sinabi ni daddy [Mark Gil] before, nung nabubuhay pa siya. Don't teach them, let them watch and learn for themselves. 'Cause they're gonna grow upon observing, e. And if they approach you, they ask for your advice. Then, do help them.”

The former Dading star also stressed to showbiz newbies the importance of constantly improving and aiming for longevity in the industry.

Gabby tells the younger actors: "'Ano ba talaga goal ninyo simula nang pumasok kayo sa industriya na ito? 'Cause it's hard mahirap, mahirap! Ano ba goal ninyo? Gusto n'yo ba maging superstar? Gusto n'yo ba maging celebrity o gusto n'yo maging aktor? If you want to concentrate on being an actor, being good with your craft, or being the best in your craft. Then, your goal is to have longevity."

Gabby adds, “Isipin mo 'yung pang matagalan, 'yung hindi magsasawa [and] mga tao sa'yo. You have to keep on improving, lahat ng mga projects na gagawin mo you keep on improving. You have to hone your craft talaga. 'Yun lang naman ina-advice ko, keep your feet on the ground.”
