The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines congratulates GMA Network for producing primetime series Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) on a Facebook post on February 21.

Sharing the program's primer posted by GMA Pinoy TV, the South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism-helmed organization recognizes the local adaptation of the 2016 Korean series, as it builds strong cultural and bilateral relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.

The caption read: "Congratulations to GMA on the local adaptation of the hit Korean series, Descendants of the Sun!

“KCC recognizes the importance of [this show], along with all the efforts that come with its production, as it cements the strong cultural and bilateral ties between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.

“Congratulations once again! #KCCPH"

Founded on July 19 2011, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines is under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines.

In coordination with the local arts and cultural sectors, it holds events and activities that can promote active cultural exchange activities between the Philippines and Korea.

As an avenue to accommodate Filipino K-pop fans, KCC also organizes annual events, contests, and Korean Culture Caravans, especially designed for the Filipino audiences.
