On Instagram, Rocco Nacino posted throwback photos taken during their intense 25-hour Special Forces training in preparation for their roles in Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) to commemorate Dingdong Dantes's 40th birthday last Sunday, August 2.

It has been a year since they underwent the training under Philippine Army in Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.

In the caption, Rocco wrote his simple birthday greeting for his co-star who plays the male lead role of Captain Lucas Manalo or "Big Boss."

"Happy birthday Big Boss @dongdantes ! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 from Alpha team. Aaaaahhhhhhh SF! #DescendantsofTheSunPh #AlphaTeam," the 33-year-old actor stated.

Dingdong shortly noticed the post and thanked Rocco for the greeting, addressing the latter as his character in Descendants of the Sun.

He said, "Salamat Wolf! We'll get back on the field soon! Keep safe bro!"

Dingdong and Rocco were joined by Paul Salas, Lucho Ayala, Jon Lucas, and Prince Clemente in the Special Forces training.

They comprise the elite Special Forces Squad of Philippine Army, or simply the Alpha Team, in the local version of Descendants of the Sun.

Their Special Forces training consisted of terse military reception rites, obstacle courses, rope courses, jungle warfare, small unit tactics, and close-quarters battle.

The Kapuso series is currently on taping break, following the COVID-19 quarantine imposed by the government.

As part of the special programming of GMA during this unprecedented time, Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) is temporarily replaced by hit 2016 fantasy series, Encantadia, in the GMA Telebabad block.
