Direk Ice Idanan had the privilege to work with Eat Bulaga dabarkads for the show's upcoming Lenten Specials. In an exclusive interview with the multi-awarded director, she shared the many reasons that make 'Biyaheng Broken Hearted' extra special.

Direk Ice admitted to growing up as an avid viewer of Eat Bulaga, and to be finally working for the program and with the dabarkads only gave her so much pleasure and honor.

She said, “I had so much fun! My parents are huge fans of Eat Bulaga kaya napapanood ko talaga sila on days that I don't have work. Kaya ang saya ko na nabigyan ako ng chance to work with them. They are exactly how they are on tv, funny and game. Sobrang 'di ako nahirapan kasi game sila for anything!”

She said she kept her family, along with the other Eat Bulaga fans, in mind to deliver a satisfactory episode for the Lenten Special.

“Iniisip ko parati how would this be a good viewing experience for them. Kaya 'yan, minake sure ko na mararamdaman rin nila ang travel and destinations na narating namin. My parents are travellers kasi, but since they're older now, they rely on entertainment to see new places. Sana matuwa sila,” she explained.

'Biyaheng Broken Hearted' may tug at the heartstrings of a lot of viewers, especially the millennials who travel to forget, find themselves, and love again.

The special will take us to the peaks of Benguet and the sandy beaches of La Union, and while new places and experiences have always something beautiful to offer, Direk Ice emphasized an important message people can take away from their Lenten Special.

She said, “Ang pinaka important is, to be able to love others, you have to love and accept yourself first. I think lahat ng tao makakarelate dun plus na lang 'yung travel part, kasi grabe ang ganda talaga ng Pilipinas.”
