Alden Richards shares three exorcism experiences
Kapuso actor Alden Richards narrated how he witnessed an actual exorcism in his own home after strange incidents started happening.
During the October 31 Halloween episode of Eat Bulaga where Miss Philippines Universe Shamcey Supsup chose Alden as someone who has seen an exorcism.
Alden admitted that he has experienced something out of the ordinary which might be related to a negative presence.
He said, "Tatlong beses na po, dalawang beses sa bahay, tapos isang beses sa tao."
He continued, 'Yung unang beses po, 'yung bahay namin sa Laguna.
Kasi, noong kumuha po ako ng bahay para sa amin, nakuha ko po 'yung property na may nakatayo ng bahay dati.
"'Tapos pina-renovate lang po namin 'yun para maging bago 'yung lahat ng laman sa loob.
"Ang usapan lang po namin ng contractor ko, hanggang four months lang po namin siya gagawin.
"Nagtataka po ako, 10 buwan na, parang walang natatapos, every time na chini-check ko siya weekly.
"Nagrereklamo 'yung mga nagtatrabaho doon na may nakikita sila sa master's bedroom area 'tapos lagi po kaming nasisiraan ng gamit.
"Nagtaka na po ako nun, so nag-consult na ako sa mga kaibigan ko. Wala pa ako no'n alam sa exorcism. Nasa Eat Bulaga na po ako no'n.
He then consulted Fr. Jeff Quintela, who is a member of the Philippine Association of Catholic Exorcists and Chief Exorcist of the Diocese of Antipolo.
Alden said, "Parang God's will na rin po na nakilala ko si Father Jeff, kasi bago ko pa pagawin 'yung [bahay] na-meet ko na si Father Jeff, ramndomly nakuwento ko lang na nagpapagawa ako ng bahay at hindi matapos-tapos.
"Ang pinapagawa sa akin, mag-alay daw po ako ng manok... all along akala ko normal 'yun.
"Nung nagkuwentuhan kami ni Father Jeff doon na po nabukas 'yung pag-iisip ko about exorcism.
"Sabi niya, 'Chard, huwag mong gagawin 'yan, hindi 'yan tama. Lalo mo lang palalakasin 'yung presensya sa bahay mo. You're patronizing that omen, which is very wrong in the Bible.'"
PERFORMING EXORCISM AT HIS HOUSE
Alden then recounted how the exorcism happened in his house. "The day na nag-agree kami ni Father Jeff na i-exorcise 'yung bahay namin, ang dami nang pumigil.
"Naligaw sila nung papunta sa bahay namin, ang dali lang po hanapin ng bahay namin.
"Pagdating ni Father Jeff sa bahay namin, 'yung sakit ng ulo niya on a scale of one to ten, nasa eight.
"Sabi niya na sa akin nun, 'Chard, malakas.' Balisang-balisa si Father pagkapasok sa bahay.
They proceeded with the exorcism regardless, continuing with the rituals.
Alden said, "Nilabas na po ni Father 'yung exorcism book at nagumpisa na po siyang magbasa ng prayers.
"Pagkasabi po niya ng basic line ng mga [prayers] ng mga exorcist, dumilim.
"Walang kahangin hangin, sumara lahat ng pintuan ng bahay pati 'yung gate, sabay-sabay, as in may nagagalit."
"Sabi po ni Father, 'Huwag kayong matakot tuloy lang tayo sa dasal.'"
Alden continued, "Matagal na pong nanirahan sa bahay yung masamang elemento. Lumang-luma po ['yung bahay] nung nakuha ko siya.
"Tinuloy ang prayers at ang rites and things that need to be done.
Later on, after the rituals, Alden took Father Jeff to a restaurant where they talked about the exorcism that happened.
Alden told Father Jeff, "Hindi ko po in-expect na sa buhay natin may ganoon. Akala ko fiction lang siya.
"Hindi ako natakot, nagulat ako na nangyayari siya. Gusto ko mapalakas yung faith ko kay Lord.
As soon as Alden mentioned how he wanted to increase his faith, strange things started happening to him right then and there.
He described, "'Yung right arm ko nagkakaroon ng scratch. 'Tapos, nagsisimula na mag-form 'yung maliliit na kuko hanggang sa dumugo, ng walang ginagawa."
Father Jeff applied exorcism oil on the forming wounds and, thankfully, Alden has been living free from negative energy in his Laguna home since then.
He said, "Sobrang daming blessings na dumating, magaan na 'yung bahay."
Eat Bulaga host Jose Manalo asked Father Jeff how bad spirits react to humans taking over their space.
Jose asked, "Isa sa mga sinasabi natin, 'yung nabubulabog 'yung mga nakatira dahil biglang binago 'yung bahay?"
Father Jeff explained, "May mga ganoong sitwasyon talaga. Mabubulabog lang naman sila sa presensya ng Diyos.
"Halimbawa, 'yung nakatira doon madasalin, bulabog sa kanila 'yun. Pero kung ang titira rin doon ay may pamumuhay na hindi ka-aya aya, mas gugustuhin nilang manatili roon kasi kakampi nila 'yung tumira."
OTHER EXORCISM EXPERIENCES
Alden continued his story, narrating how he helped a fan who had been possessed by bad spirits.
"Recently, ang tinulungan ko naman isang fan ko na na-possess.
"Akala niya nakakakita lang siya ng multo and it's a blessing or a skill.
"Ang desisyon ko nung una, ipa-pray over ko lang ito and eventually we found out, possessed pala siya.
His third encounter with exorcism was when he helped a friend who started experiencing strange skin problems after having a tree cut in his home.
Alden and Father Jeff visited his friend's house and during the exorcism, he claimed that he heard a strange sound.
The EB host said, "Umiikot na kami to bless the place, 'tapos may nag-growl, narinig ko 'yun sa likod ni Father Jeff."
Despite coming across strange incidents involving the unseen, Alden believes he is a normal guy who only feels negative energies when it's strongly in his presence.
"Wala akong third-eye, wala akong nakikita, o nararamdaman.
"Pero kapag nandoon ka na sa moment na 'yun, merong bigat tapos meron kang minsan maririnig, maaamoy, totoo 'yun, 'yung senses namin 'yun."
