Nakagawa ng kaniyang sariling pangalan sa industriya ang aktor na si Benjamin Alves nang hindi ginagamit ang impluwensiya ng kaniyang tiyuhin at premyadong aktor na si Piolo Pacual.

Kuwento ng Widows' War actor sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, malaki ang respeto niya kay Piolo at sa mga pinagdaanan nito bago marating ang kasikatan.

Aniya, “I wanted to respect whatever he went through knowing what he had to go through and the hardships, and the journey.”

Ayon kay Benjamin, ginusto niyang pagdaanan din ang hirap upang makapasok sa showbiz.

“I needed to experience that for myself. I think I needed to go through that in order to appreciate what I have now,” anang aktor.

Dagdag pa niya, “I wanted to have the full experience, I guess.”

Pero ayon kay Benjamin, madalas din silang mag-usap ni Piolo tungkol sa mga bagay-bagay gaya ng mga desisyon tungkol sa kaniyang career.

“I've always had a dialogue with him, and I've always had a relationship with him, even now, even when I had moved to GMA, he was one of the people I talked to and informed him about it,” ani Benjamin.

Paglalahad pa ni Benjamin, ibinibigay niya ang lahat ng kaniyang makakaya sa lahat ng roles na ginagampanan niya

“You just see it, you just see that the door is not as open or not as wide as when you entered 12 years ago so having a self-awareness that 'This might be one of the last few ones.'

“Just so, I'm always a future, forward-thinker, so nothing will surprise you, hindi ka mabibigla na parang wala ka na pala. So I think it helped, 'cause when nakuha ko po 'yung role na Basil, all in.

“I wished I had that attitude for all my roles, na this is the last one, you gotta go one hundred and ten percent.”

Si Benjamin Alves ay kasal na sa kaniyang long-time girlfriend na si Chelsea Robato. Ikinasal ang dalawa sa Santuario De San Antonio Parish sa Forbes Park, Makati City noong January 28, 2024.
