Baron Geisler released a statement on Monday, February 24, following reports on his alleged detention in Mandaue City, Cebu for public intoxication.

In his statement, the actor called out news outlets for spreading allegations without checking the facts.

"Breaking my silence. There's a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting," the 42-year-old actor said. "Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion."

Baron then clarified that he was okay "and I'm seeking legal advice to address this properly."

The award-winning artist also thanked his supporters amid the rumors of drunken disturbance, "To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything. #TruthMatters #Grateful."

According to reports, Baron was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday, February 22, by the Canduman Police Station for causing a disturbance while intoxicated at Psalm Street, H. Abellana, Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City, where he is a resident. He was accused of violating Mandaue's City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434 (drunkenness) or severe intoxication.

The actor was released from jail the following day after paying a P500 fine, the reports also said.
