It's official: 'First Yaya' returns for another season ahead of 2022 elections

The filing of the certificate of candidacy for next year's election is already finished but the fairytale-like story of Melody Reyes and President Glenn Acosta in GMA Network's top-rated primetime show First Yaya continues as the show has been renewed for another season.

Kapuso actress Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion are set to reprise their roles as Melody and Glenn, respectively.

The show's supporting cast, headed by Pancho Magno, who plays President Glenn's head of Presidential Security Group Conrad Enriquez, will also be returning alongside Cassy Legaspi, Joaquin Domagoso, Thia Thomalla, Maxine Medina, Kakai Bautista, Cai Cortez, Thou Reyes, Patricia Coma, Clarence Delgado, Jon Lucas, Glenda Garcia, and Ms. Pilar Pilapil.

Ms. Sandy Andolong is also set to come back as Melody's mother, Edna, alongside the rest of their family portrayed by Boboy Garovillo, Analyn Barro, Jerick Dolormente, and Anjo Damiles.

Aside from them, First Yaya Season 2 will also welcome new characters.


At the finale episode of the first season, Melody Reyes (Sanya) had her dream fairytale wedding as she married President Glenn Acosta (Gabby).



What could possibly happen now that Melody is the First Lady?

First Yaya is under the helm of Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, First Vice President for Drama Productions Redgie A. Magno, Senior Assistant Vice President for Drama Productions Cheryl Ching-Sy, Senior Program Manager Ali Marie Nokom-Dedicatoria, Executive Producer Joy Lumboy-Pili, and esteemed director L.A. Madridejos.

This primetime offering is the idea of concept creators and writers Jojo Tawasil Nones and Marlon G. Miguel; Creative Director Aloy Adlawan; Creative Head Dode Cruz; Creative Consultant Kit Villanueva-Zapata; writers Christine Badillo-Novicio and Obet Villela; and, brainstormer Jai Shane Canete.
