'Hallypop' trends as K-pop fans rejoice over new Asian entertainment channel

On Sunday, September 6, Filipino K-pop fans were over the moon to see their favorite stars on digital TV as GMA Network launched the test broadcast for its Asian pop culture channel, Hallypop.

As early as 7:00 a.m., the term “Hallypop” took the No. 14 spot in Philippine Twitter with Filipinos sharing their enthusiasm over the telecast.

One fan wrote, “Ya'll rescan your digiboxes! There's a new Asian pop music channel called Hallypop. May Music bank!”

Another mentioned, “The partnership makes GMA Network the first media organization in the Philippines to distribute channels from Jungo TV, specifically its concert network Frontrow and Asian Pop network, Hallypop. And now, it's available on GMA Affordabox. Thanks for this, GMA Network”

Meanwhile, others quipped that they finally found a new favorite channel to tune in to.

A netizen said, “@gmanetwork, we see you have a new channel called 'Hallypop' where we can watch Korean variety shows and Music Bank. Please do maintain it.”

Hallypop is GMA-7's latest offering under its partnership with Jungo TV. It aims to bring the best in Asian entertainment with its offerings such as Running Man, Music Bank, K-pop Star, JYP Party People, and so much more.

Hallypop is set to make its Philippine TV debut very soon.
