READ: Growing up with Atom Araullo
Urban Dictionary defines "adulting" as a verb that means "to carry out one or more of the duties and responsibilities expected of fully developed individuals." While many millennials understand that this is a crucial part of life, fulfilling the expectations that come with entering adulthood can be downright daunting.
To ease this transition and make it less confusing, GMA will launch a new online exclusive program hosted by Atom Araullo titled Adulting. In an exclusive interview, Atom talked about his upcoming web series.
"Adulting with Atom Araullo is a GMA ONE Online Exclusive show and we hope to talk about the different challenges we face as we enter the adult world. That's it in a nutshell. Nobody teaches us these kind of things. Sometimes we're lucky to have friends or family to help us get into it painlessly but for the most part, nangangapa tayo sa ganiyan. Everything from finding your own place, budgeting your money, making career decisions, personal relationships, or taxes, things like these. I feel like a lot of people can relate to these challenges," he said.
Although there are plenty of adulting-related skills he has yet to master, Atom admits his top priority is learning to manage his time.
"I want to be more efficient with how I use my time and also make sure that I'm able to allot enough time for the things that matter. Sometimes I get caught up with all the things I have to do [like] jobs, responsibilities. Everyone can have a certain level of money, iba-iba tayo ng katayuan sa buhay but everyone has the same amount of time. I think that's the ultimate goal, to be able to have a fulfilling vocation and at the same time, finding happiness by spending time with people who matter," Atom answered.
He is confident that Adulting will be a relatable series, filled with learning experiences for young adults.
According to Atom, "It's about time we face this, I'm sure a lot of young people have questions on how to become an adult and approach certain responsibilities. It's not easy but if we can come together and discuss these challenges, maybe we can learn a thing or two."
Adulting with Atom Araullo along with two other digital shows will be part of GMA ONE Online Exclusives which will be released on January 1, 2018 and will be available on GMANetwork.com and GMA Network's official YouTube account.
