WATCH: Arra San Agustin learns different cooking methods in 'Taste MNL'

By Gia Allana Soriano

Taste MNL host Arra San Agustin recently visited Seared Restaurant & Lounge in Pasig where she got to try their specialties such as the Cowabunga, an appetizer made of Taco cups filled with wagyu beef chili, homemade béchamel cheese sauce, bell peppers, and chopped tomatoes, plus their sous-vide french-cut pan-seared pork chop.

Arra also learned the sous-vide and searing method. Sous-vide is described as "food placed in a plastic pouch or a glass jar and then placed in a water bath for usually one to seven hours, [or] up to 48 or more at an accurately regulated temperature." While searing is a "technique used in which the surface of the food (usually meat, poultry, or fish) is cooked at high temperature until a caramelized crust forms."
