After he learned that the former partner of It's Showtime would move the show to an afternoon timeslot, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak called GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes to find a new home for ABS-CBN's long-running noontime show.
During the contract signing between the executives of the two media companies, Katigbak admitted he did not expect that the agreement to air It's Showtime on GTV, GMA Network's free-to-air channel, would happen fast.
After that, in just less than two weeks, we were again welcomed to [GMA].
"Kaya marami pong salamat, Atty. [Felipe] Gozon, Annette, Jimmy, Philip, at sa aming Kapuso sa pagtanggap ninyo sa Showtime at sa pagyakap niyong muli sa ABS-CBN," he added.
Katigbak was referring to GMA Network President and COO Gilberto Duavit, Jr., and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong. ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes and officer-in-charge of Finance Group Paul O. Pieded were also present in the contract signing.
He continued, "Thank you for your kindness, GMA.
It's Showtime hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Amy Perez, Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Ryan Bang, Jackie Gonzaga, Ion Perez, Cianne Dominguez, MC, and Lassy also graced the contract signing.
It's Showtime will air on GTV beginning July 1.
