Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio, grateful to Peru fans' warm reception of 'Hanggang Makita Kang Muli'

By Felix Ilaya

One of the hardest projects that Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio have ever done was the 2016 drama Hanggang Makita Kang Muli where Bea portrayed the role of a feral child, Ana Isabelle Medrano/Angela, opposite Derrick's character, Calvin Manahan. Recently, the soap was aired in Peru under the title Cautiva where it became a huge hit.

With the success of Cautiva in the Latin-American country, Derrick admitted in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com that he's pleased with the warm reception of their show.

"I'm personally feeling really happy that we have fans from Peru! It's an honor for me to have international supporters," said the Kapuso actor.

Bea, on the other hand, feels rewarded with all the effort that she put into portraying her role, "It is overwhelming, in a good way. I didn't expect that this is going to happen. The show, my role specifically, was really hard for me. The role was draining because it required a lot of effort from me, physically and mentally. So this news is made all the hard work, not just for me but for the whole team, super worth it."

Derrick also shared with us his thoughts as to why it became such a phenomenon in Peru, "Probably because the story itself is out of this world in a unique way. And the great chemistry of the cast also helped the show."

Bea has now put Peru in the list of her future travel destinations to visit their supporters over at the Latin American country.

"I love traveling and their messages made me wonder what their country looks like so I Googled it and it instantly became included on my travel list! I also want to go to Peru so maybe I could meet our Kapusos who supports Cautiva and those who wanna meet me. I wanna see them as much as they want to see me personally," said she.

Their Peruvian fans are keen to send their love for Bea and Derrick through social media which they sometimes respond to. Lastly, the Kapuso love team sends out this message to their fans in Peru.

"Thank you guys for your support. I hope we would all meet someday, love you, guys!" says Derrick.

"Hola to our friends and supporters from Peru! I wanna send my deepest gratitude to everyone who watched and supported Cautiva. I gave my heart, sweat, and tears to that show and me seeing your messages and comments that you liked the show makes my heart so happy. You are making the hard work of everyone included in the show even more worth it and I appreciate your love so much! I can't wait to visit your country and meet all of you soon! Again, muchas gracias and los amo a todos! Much love all the way from the Philippines!" ends Bea.
