Direk Mark Reyes likened Shaira Diaz and Ruru Madrid's love team with some of the most popular and well-loved pairings in Philippine entertainment, such as Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon, the now husband and wife Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, and Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin.

Award-winning director Mark Reyes helmed I Can See You Season 2's first mini-series titled “On My Way to You,” which stars Kapuso actors Shaira Diaz and Ruru Madrid.

The new love team stepped up to the roles of a runaway bride and a jilted fiancé whose fate is about to get intertwined.

During I Can See You's media conference held recently, Direk Mark shared with the press how effective Shaira and Ruru on-screen chemistry is.

The esteemed director claimed that ShaiRu's chemistry was so natural, and for them to have it was a “gift.”

He also bared that the pair's kissing scene was one of the best kissing scenes he's directed his entire career.

“From my experience, usually if you put two people in a love team situation or you pair them as romantic leads, it takes time to see if it works.

“Kay Shaira and kay Ruru, it was a natural fit. Like what you see in the AVP, kissing scene is the most difficult thing to do, especially if you just met someone for a few days,” he said.

Direk Mark also likened ShaiRu's team up with some of the most popular and well-loved pairings in Philippine entertainment, such as Bobby Andrews and Angelu de Leon, the now husband and wife Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, and Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin.

“Their scene, they can quote me on this, and I told them that this is one of the best kissing scenes I've directed and I was able to shoot in my entire career.

“Right after the scene, sinabi ko na kaagad sa kanila 'yon. It was so natural. It was so romantic. For them to have that, it's a gift,” he continued.

“Those are rare cases. Automatic na it's there, e.”

Meanwhile, joining Shaira and Ruru are Arra San Agustin, Gil Cuerva, Malou de Guzman, and Richard Yap.

“On My Way to You” follows the story of Raki (Shaira), a viral runaway bride who escaped to a remote mountainous area to steer away from all the bashings she receives online.

There she meets Jerrick (Ruru), the groom who was jilted at the altar by her fiancee. Will they find comfort in each other's arms given their circumstances?

The mini-series premieres on Monday, March 22, on GMA.
