By Marah Ruiz

I Heart Movies has promised that one can "experience all the feels" when tuning in to the digital movie channel.

The channel, after all, offers a wide selection of well-loved local and international movies from various genres.

This weekend is no different and will surely feature something for everyone.

Here are three reasons to get excited over the movie lineup of I Heart Movies this weekend.

1. '90s nostalgia

Relive the '90s with the sweet love story of 1998 TV movie Roses for Tracy starring the late Rico Yan, Bobby Andrews, and Kate Fernandez.

Follow Amy Austria, Dindi Gallardo and Tonton Gutierrez in 1998 film Brisbane Diary. It tells the story of a mother who travels to Brisbane, Australia in search of her lost infant daughter.

2. Old-school action

Old-school action movies have this certain aesthetic that, even with today's technology, simply cannot be replicated in modern movies.

Catch Kung Tawagin Siya'y Bathala, an action film from 1980 written and directed by the legendary Carlo J. Caparas.

Other action films that you should not miss watching are Guevarra: Sa Batas Ko Walang Hari (1998) which is topbilled by Ian Veneracion, and May Sayad (1998), which stars actor and director Ronnie Ricketts.

3. Heart-wrenching drama

Hearts will surely be touched with the 2012 drama film Thy Womb.

The movie boasts of an award-winning cast that includes Superstar Nora Aunor, Bembol Roco, Mercedes Cabral, and Lovi Poe.

It is directed by internationally lauded director Brillante Mendoza.

In the film, Nora plays a middle-aged Badjao woman who wants to give her husband a child. This leads her to look for a younger second wife for her husband. She loves her husband so much that she even helps in the delivery of the child of the second wife.

Thy Womb swept awards at the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival including Best Actress and Female Star of the Night for Nora, Best Director for Brillante, Best Original Story, Best Cinematography, the Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Awards, and the award for Most Gender Sensitive Film.

It has also been recognized at the 69th Venice International Film Festival. It won Bisato d'Oro: Premio Della Critica Indipendiente for Best Actress for Nora, La Navicella Award for Best Director and P. Nazareno Taddei Award Special Mention for Brillante, among many others.

Another touching romance drama film is the 2006 hit Moments of Love, which stars Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.

Directed by Mark Reyes, it tells the story of a love made strong over a simple telephone line but ultimately separated by time.

Experience all the feels on 'I Heart Movies,' on channel 5 on the GMA Affordabox and GMA Now. It is also available on other digital TV boxes.
