Recipe: Ampalaya Fritters Con Chocolate


INGREDIENTS:
500 grams bitter gourd or ampalaya, cut into rings
1 tsp baking soda
250 grams all purpose flour 
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp baking powder
oil for deep frying
200 grams bittersweet dark chocolate 
2 tbsps all purpose cream 
2 tbsps corn syrup
1 cup water

 
PROCEDURE:
1. Blanch the ampalaya for one minute with baking soda, then soak in ice cold water and set aside
 
2. In a bowl, mix flour, egg and baking powder water until fluffy, then set aside.
 
3. Dip the ampalaya rings in hot oil  until golden brown. Place on plate then pipe center of the ampalaya fritters with chocolate. Dust with chocolate powder and powdered sugar.
