‘Love and Lies’ cast dishes out on the first suspenserye

Love and Lies is the first suspenserye on Primetime television. In an exclusive interview with Joey de Leon and Ricky Lo of Startalk TX last April 6, the cast of Love and Lies shared their experiences on set.
Top-billed by Richard Gutierrez, who plays the role of Philippine Navy officer, Edward, the story revolves around Edward’s search for his wife, Cathy (played by Michelle Madrigal), who gets kidnapped. In his quest to rescue her, he finds an unlikely ally in a street-smart, pole dancer named Denise (played by Bela Padilla) who is trying to clear the name of her brother who is suspected of the kidnapping.
When asked how it was to work with Richard Gutierrez for the first time, Bela Padilla had this to say: “Si Richard kasi, napapanood ko sa Mulawin, sa Sugo, so ngayon nakaka-eksena ko na siya kaya it’s very surreal for me. Medyo may kaunting wow factor ako pagdating ko sa set pero okay naman, it went fine naman.”
Paolo Contis, who plays the role of Manny, an officer from the National Bureau of Investigation, explained the preparations involved. “Nag-ensayo po kaming lahat, [natuto kami] kung paano bumaril, lahat, [pati] tactical movements and training, kasama lahat ‘yan. Nais po namin pasalamatan ang Philippine Navy…sa suportang binibigay nila para sa Love and Lies. Salamat po sa inyong lahat for lending us everything. All-out sila sa amin,” stated Paolo.
Playing the role of Edward’s best friend, Gabby in the series is Sid Lucero. He shared that he is very inspired to take on this new project because of his baby. He also stated that he is very excited to see his baby soon. “Four months na lang,” he exclaimed.
Michelle Madrigal, who will give life to the character of Cathy, is also very inspired right now. She revealed that she is very happy with her current boyfriend.
Catch Love and Lies as it premieres on April 8 on GMA Telebabad, right after Mundo Mo’y Akin. --Text by Samantha Portillo
