Jennylyn Mercado on working with Gabby Concepcion: 'Ang swerte ko'

Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado is set to show her witty side again not in the big screen but in television.

The award-winning actress believes that portraying comedic roles allows her to expose her real side.

"Masayahing tao talaga ko sa totoog buhay so hindi siya trabaho para sa 'kin kapag gumagawa ako ng ganitong klaseng drama, mas na-eenjoy ko kasi nailalabas ko rin 'yung other part of me," she stated.

Following the success of My Love From The Star, Jennylyn will topbill another rom-com project under GMA Entertainment. She is set to star in the upcoming Kapuso series Love You Two together with '80s matinee idol Gabby Concepcion.

In her exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Jennylyn says, "Isa sa mga tinitingala nating artista si Sir Gabby. Ako, napapanood ko pa 'yung mga pelikula niya dati. I'm very happy at sobrang honored to work with Sir Gabby."

Jennylyn shares what it feels like to work with the actor whom she looks up to.

"No'ng una, medyo may kaba syempre. Iba si Sir Gabby, 'di ba? Isa siya sa mga tinitingalang aktor and ang swerte ko na makatrabaho siya," she recounts.

Aside from Gabby, Jennylyn is also excited to work with Shaira Diaz for the first time. They will play as sisters in the series who will fall in love with the same man, who will be played by the 54-year-old actor.

Jennylyn believes that this type of rivalry is what makes Love You Two unique from her previous rom-com roles.

"Iba 'to dahil magiging karibal ko 'yung kapatid ko dito pero not in a bad way. Kasi usually 'pag sinabi mong karibal, parang inagaw ko sa kaniya or inagaw niya sa 'kin, hindi naman ganun. May isang taong makaka-realize na hindi ito para sa 'kin kaya sa kaniya na 'to," Jennylyn says of her role in the upcoming series.

Love You Two is set to air this April on GMA Telebabad.
