Meet the four Sparkada boys who will bring kilig in 'Luv is: Caught in His Arms'

The much-anticipated collaboration project between GMA Network and Wattpad Webtoon Studios titled Luv is: Caught in His Arms serves as the first-ever series of up-and-coming Kapuso artists who are part of Sparkada.

Sparkada is a group of 17 young, talented, and fresh faces of Sparkle GMA Artist Center who were handpicked by acclaimed starmaker Mr. Johnny Manahan.

Among these new gen of artists who will bring kilig in the said series are four of the Sparkada boys, namely, Michael Sager, Vince Maristela, Raheel Bhyria, and Sean Lucas.

According to Sparkle, Michael moved back to the Philippines from Vancouver, Canada to fulfill his dreams of becoming an artist. From being a backup dancer in the Disney show titled Descendants, Michael is now ready to show his talent in acting in his first-ever series on GMA.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Michael shared his initial reaction the first time he knew that he got the role of Sean Owen Ferell in the series.

“It was honestly a surprise kasi we were called for a screen test to audition in person and prinank pa kami ni Direk Barry [Gonzalez] so I was very nervous and medyo na-embarrass din ako but then when he switched it up and said na, 'Joke lang, you'll be part of the cast,' biglang adrenaline ang saya ko and of course I'm so thankful and grateful," Michael shared.

Another promising actor to watch for in the said series is Sparkada hunk Vince, a former child star who played the younger versions of some of showbiz industry's prominent actors.

Despite his experience as a child actor before, Vince admitted that he still did some adjustments to understand life in production again.

"'Yung challenge po na na-encounter ko sa taping was hindi ako sanay na sa environment [ganoon] like antagal na po 'nung nagka-shoot ako [noon] so parang naninibago ako sa environment,” he shared.

On the other hand, Vince is thankful that he can relate to his role as Tristan Ferell in the said series.

"Tapos doon sa character ko naman, medyo nahirapan nang onti na hindi kasi 'yung role ko doon is I'm a 'Kuya' kila Raheel and Sean and sa totoong buhay, parang nila akong kuya. Medyo napadili 'yung work lalo na close kaming mga boys, actually lahat ng cast," he claimed.

Next is Filipino-Pakistani model-actor Raheel. This young actor began modeling during his teen years. His love for different sports such as basketball, badminton, and boxing helped him achieve his fit figure and charming looks.

In an interview, Raheel also shared his preparations for his role as Aldus Raphael Ferell.

According to the young actor, even though he found his role quite difficult, he believes that it prepared him to take on more challenging projects in the future.

"Since kakatapos lang ng 'Luv Is' and very challenging din 'yung role, sa tingin ko 'yun na rin 'yung stepping stone for me to do harder roles sa next projects,” Raheel shared.

"'Yung character ko po doon is [may pagka] playboy so I really had to ask my friend kung paano maging ganoon [laughs] so medyo nahirapan talaga ako sa role. Pero thankful ako," he added.

Joining Michael, Vince, and Raheel is new actor and future industrial engineer Sean. During their workshops, Sean presented himself as a charming teen actor fit for the roles in romantic comedies because of his charisma, personality, and unique humor.

For Sean, one of the challenging parts of his preparation for this show was that he had to practice to project and make himself comfortable in front of the camera.

"Nahirapan talaga ako kasi 'yung una kong salang and sa character ko, siya 'yung makulit, siya 'yung maingay, nahirapan ako 'nung first day ko kasi sobrang stiff ko sa harap ng camera. Since ako nga 'yung makulit, dapat sobrang loose ko, masaya lang ako. Pero with the help of Sofia, Allen, and all the veteran actors sa set, tsaka 'yung workshops na binigay sa'kin ng Sparkle, sobrang nakatulong siya na ma-break ko 'yon," Sean shared.

Luv is: Caught in his Arms is top-billed by Sparkle sweethearts Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay.

This much-anticipated series also introduces Sparkle artists Caitlyn Stave, Cheska Fausto, Tanya Ramos, and Kirsten Gonzales. Also joining these promising talents is social media star turned actress Rain Matienzo, who appeared in the 2022 Kapuso TV drama legal crime series Artikulo 247.
