StarStruck Kids alumnus Miguel Tanfelix is all grown up--and ready for more challenging roles!

Miguel Tan-Felix is lovable--as evidenced by the roles he usually portrays on TV: from the young Pagaspas of Mulawin, to his most recent turn as the mentally-challenged titular character of Niño. This week though, Miguel is pulling double duty to show a different side of his acting prowess: as a romantic lead in a new installment of Seasons of Love--and, on a more daring turn, a young man who loses his way in Magpakailanman.

In Magpakailanman, Miguel will portray the life of Joven Santos, a boy given away by his real mother because of economic reasons--she couldn’t afford to raise him. Instead of letting him starve, she decided to give him up: to her mother Manay Leonida (to be portrayed by Celia Rodriguez).

Manay, in wanting to prevent Joven from feeling abandoned or unwanted, made him believe that she was his real mother, and that her adopted son Cedric (Ruru Madrid) was his brother. And for a while, it worked... Until Joven’s real mother returned to take him back.

Shaken by the lies he was made to believe, Joven became susceptible to vices--throwing his life away, thinking that it no longer mattered--that he no longer mattered. An idea that neither Manay nor Cedric want Joven to believe--and so they compensated.

But as Manay does her best to put everything back to normal, Joven loses his closeness with Cedric--leading into fights between the two, and causing a friction that will test the family bonds that they formed.

Will their family get through these challenge? Or will the family they formed fall apart now that Manay’s good-intentioned secrets have been revealed? Find out this Saturday, October 25, in Magpakailanman--after Marian.

“Kalakal Boys: the Cedric Macdon and Joven Santos story” is directed by Maryo J. delos Reyes, from a script by Jason John Lim, based on the research of Loi Argel Nova.
