Juancho Trivino receives his first nomination for his Padre Salvi role

By Kristian Eric Javier

Juancho Trivino reached a milestone in his acting career when he received his first acting award nomination for his role as Padre Salvi on the hit fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra.

He is nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of Padre Salvi at the 3rd Annual TAG Awards Chicago, to be held on December 31. The award-giving body is organized by TAG MEDIA and highlights the achievements of celebrities and influencers in entertainment, entrepreneurship, and social media.

Juancho took to Twitter to share the news on November 2 with a simple “Ah wow, sa 10 years ko sa showbiz, first time ko 'to.”

The Kapuso actor recently shared a life milestone when he attended his college graduation ceremony in person after a virtual graduation held last year. In 2021, he shared that he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship from De La Salle University.

Padre Salvi was his first villain role and in a previous interview, Juancho revealed he enjoyed portraying the character, saying it was the most fun he ever had.

“Sana ma-enjoy ninyo pa lalo, dahil marami pang magagandang scenes na shinoshoot namin para sa inyo,” he added.

In a separate Twitter post, Juancho jokingly called on everyone to vote for him in the awards so that he can brag about it with his neighbors.

“Iboto ninyo na ako para ipagmalaki ko naman sa kapitbahay ko, ayaw nila maniwala eh,” he said.

Maria Clara at Ibarra bagged a total of three nominations. These include a nomination for Barbie Forteza (Klay) for the Best Actress Award and Julie Ann San Jose (Maria Clara) for the Best Supporting Actress award.

Other Kapuso stars were also nominated for different awards.

According to the TAG MEDIA YouTube channel, a Filipino-American jury in Chicago will vote for its list and awardees, which will take up 80 percent of the votes, while online votes via Twitter will make up 20 percent.
